As a long time resident of Pawlet and owner/principal broker of McChesney Real Estate, Scott has become deeply ingrained in the fabric of the Pawlet Community. His family, including his wife Phoebe and four children, has been his pride and priority through the years, sharing in their love for travel, home exchanges, and the outdoor activities that Vermont offers.

Starting with his academic pursuits in Spanish and Economics at Hobart College, he embarked on a diverse career path that took him from the production department of Ralph Lauren to the corporate environment of Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City. However, his heart ultimately led him back to his roots in Vermont, where he joined his father's business, forging a partnership that lasted over three decades.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Scott is driven by a profound commitment to customer service and attention to detail. He also believes strongly in giving back to his community, evident through his extensive volunteer work. Some of these roles have been serving in the Pawlet Volunteer Fire Department, volunteering & contributing to The Bennington Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at the Mettawee Community School including, but not limited to, coaching and currently serving his third term on the school board. His involvement in various committees, including the Feasibility Committee leading to the restoration of the old School into the Pawlet Library and the Merger committee leading to the creation of the Mettawee School District offering school choice, showcase his proactive approach to community development.

Scott also has a passion for building and restoration which not only manifests in the construction of their family home but also in several other restoration projects he has undertaken. This hands-on experience complements his role in real estate, providing him with a nuanced understanding of property and construction that benefits his clients.
